Research Awards of the State of Styria

Research Awards of the State of Styria honor outstanding scientific achievements within the Styrian scientific community and significantly contribute to strengthening regional human capital. The award is presented as part of annual submissions, with coordination, announcement, and evaluation centrally organized. Recognized are contributions from the fields of research & innovation as well as science, which impress through their quality, innovative content, and relevance to the academic community. These awards not only highlight excellent research work but also promote the public perception of science and create an incentive to approach complex questions boldly and creatively.

Eligible to participate are scientists and researchers residing or institutionally affiliated in Styria who submit a scientific contribution in accordance with the requirements of the current call. The evaluation criteria include quality of scientific achievements, innovation potential, and relevance for science and research. All submission documents as specified in the call must be attached for the application; exact deadlines and detailed requirements are published annually by the Department of Science and Research. By recognizing outstanding projects, the research awards make an important contribution to fostering new talents and highlighting scientific excellence in Styria.
