Description

The women's project funding supports non-profit organizations throughout Austria with partial personnel and material cost subsidies to provide free, anonymous counseling services for women and girls or to implement gender equality-specific projects. All measures that strengthen the economic, legal, and social self-determination of women and girls are funded – from social, psychological, or health-related counseling to prevention and destigmatization projects in the area of violence protection. The funding rate amounts to up to 100% of eligible expenses (personnel costs, material and travel expenses). Applications for funding in the calendar year must be submitted by October 31 of the previous year; for projects not aligned with the calendar year, a submission deadline of at least eight weeks before the project start applies.

The offer is aimed at non-profit organizations that provide women-specific counseling or gender equality initiatives, for example on social, legal, or economic issues. A non-profit sponsorship, compliance with the target and measure catalogs published on the Ministry’s homepage, and adherence to all legal and formal criteria are prerequisites. Required documents for the application include, among others: application form, detailed project description with schedule, financial plan/accounting, standardized job description, and overview of additional locations. Information is provided by the “Women’s Affairs and Gender Equality” section of the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research, where the online application is also submitted via the Transparency Portal.
