Description

Free Welfare – Association Funding in Upper Austria is aimed at interest groups and other associations as well as private legal entities active in the field of social assistance. Direct grants enable the coverage of ongoing expenses and the implementation of special project initiatives: from counseling to the care of persons in need. Measures that strengthen the association’s purpose in the social sector and fulfill the public mandate with regard to thriftiness, efficiency, and appropriateness are funded. The program supports both existing structures and innovative initiatives, thereby contributing to the sustainable improvement of social services in the region.

Applications must be submitted before the project begins and require a clear financing plan that ensures overall funding. The scope of the funding documents includes a completed and signed application form, a substantive concept or description of the association’s activities, the current statutes, detailed budget and financing plans, as well as proof of expenditure (project accounting of income/expenses or balance sheet). In some cases, original invoices and payment receipts must be submitted. A prerequisite for approval is an appropriate cost structure and the alignment of the project content with the funding objectives. The processing is handled by the Directorate of Social Affairs and Health of the Upper Austrian State Government, Department of Social Affairs. Since funding is awarded continuously, it offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to advance social assistance projects flexibly and responsibly.
