Description
In Styria, nonprofit organizations have access to a continuously available grant in the funding areas of Social Affairs as well as Work & Social Affairs. Through leisure assistance, private, officially approved disability facilities are enabled to implement services based on a written service contract. Funding is provided for adolescents and adults from the age of 15 with physical, sensory, intellectual, or multiple disabilities who live in family structures, in mobile supervised living arrangements, or independently. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline since November 12, 2013.
Objective of the funding is to enable people with disabilities to access a wide range of leisure activities and to strengthen their independence in active leisure participation. Leisure assistants accompany participants in exploring their own interests within a community and further developing social skills. Through individual support and group activities, barriers are reduced and self-determination is promoted. This grant contributes to improving quality of life and ensuring sustainable participation in the region’s cultural and sports offerings.
