Description
Mobile Early Intervention in Vienna is aimed at children with developmental delays or disabilities from birth until school entry, as well as their families. Professionals visit the families in their familiar environment – usually at home – and use targeted exercises and specialized materials to playfully promote motor, sensory, and language development. Additionally, the multidisciplinary team supports caregivers in organizing daily life as effectively as possible and addressing individual needs. Special focus areas include early diagnosis, sensory promotion, and the integration of specialized services for the sensory impaired.
This service is provided as a grant fully (100%) funded by the Vienna Social Fund (FSW) and can be applied for at any time – indefinitely – in writing to the FSW. Applicants require: an expert report or recommendation from a recognized institution, birth certificate, registration certificate, proof of Austrian citizenship or equivalence, confirmation of developmental delay/disability, and, if necessary, authorization and liability declarations. Approval is granted following an assessment of necessity, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness by a specialist team. An extension beyond kindergarten entry – the so-called 3-2-1 rule – is possible upon request. Mobile Early Intervention strengthens children in their individual potentials and offers families prompt and unbureaucratic support during a critical developmental phase.
