Description

GamesTalente is a nationwide open competition that supports game enthusiasts aged 13 to 16 in deepening their digital and creative skills. Participants can submit their own game entries either individually or in teams of up to three people in categories such as programming, story, graphic design, game mechanics, or music. Requirements include residence in Germany and the consent of a legal guardian. Starting February 2026, all interested parties can continuously participate via the fully completed online registration form and the digital platform. Submissions in up to three categories, including one main category, encourage a comprehensive presentation of the concept and increase the chances of evaluation by expert jurors from game development, media education, and talent promotion.

The focus lies on the evaluation criteria of idea and creativity, content and technical implementation, as well as personal development potential. The top 50 project submissions qualify for a one-week summer academy, where participants can further network and deepen their skills in teams under the guidance of students and educational experts. As a prize and recognition, GamesTalente offers not only acknowledgment but also practical impulses for future STEM and media projects. This funding format strengthens computer science, organizational, and creative skills and contributes to actively shaping digital culture as well as unlocking long-term potential in education, digitalization, and culture.
