Description
The funding program of the Free State of Bavaria supports districts and independent cities in sustainably strengthening and securing midwifery care in obstetrics and postpartum support. As a grant program in the field of health, financial allocations are granted based on the number of births in the previous year and a fixed factor. Applications can be submitted annually by November 15, the reporting of the previous year's birth numbers is due by May 31, and the proof of use must be submitted by June 30 of the following year. These clearly defined deadlines ensure that project initiation and implementation can be optimally planned and accompanied.
Only public institutions responsible for inpatient care and midwifery services are eligible for funding. Eligible expenses include personnel costs as well as material expenses, provided they directly serve the funding purpose. A prerequisite for the grant approval is compliance with the European de minimis regulations, proof of birth numbers, a detailed description of the planned measures, and a complete cost and financing plan. Implementation of the measure may only begin after written confirmation of the submitted application. The program provides a solid foundation to secure the quality of obstetric services locally and to improve the working conditions for midwives and obstetric nurses in Bavaria in the long term.
