Joint Task “Improvement of Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection” is the central instrument for promoting sustainable agriculture, strengthening rural areas, and protecting the coasts. Within the framework of this program, investments in agricultural enterprises, infrastructure measures, and regional development processes are supported through grants and guarantees. The measures range from integrated village development concepts to the modernization of livestock facilities with emission reduction, as well as the expansion of tourist infrastructures. Ecological services such as emission reduction, climate adaptation, and contractual nature conservation are as much the focus as economic aspects and innovative capacity. The goal is to create equivalent living conditions with functioning basic services, attractive town centers, and environmentally sound management. Sustainability aspects, economic efficiency, and the degree of innovation, which are anchored in regionally coordinated development strategies, are decisive for selection.
Public institutions, municipalities, districts, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural and food sectors are eligible for funding. The funding requirements include, among others, bookkeeping for at least two years, proof of professional qualification, an economic investment concept, and appropriate contracts in the case of cooperations. Eligible expenses include investment and planning costs, architectural and engineering services, as well as personnel costs. Funding rates range depending on the measure from 20 to 65 percent, in certain cases up to 75 percent; beyond that, guarantee models secure projects. Application documents such as investment concepts, bookkeeping records, and cooperation agreements ensure a transparent awarding process. Support by experts in regional management and village facilitation assists the implementation of cross-state funded projects to initiate sustainable developments in all parts of the country.
