Description

Under the umbrella of the joint task "Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure" (GRW-Infra), the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport supports business-related infrastructure projects in the Free State of Saxony. As a non-repayable grant, investments in infrastructure, regional development, and smart city projects are equally prioritized, as are measures in the fields of urban development & urban renewal as well as agriculture & rural development. Eligible recipients may be municipalities, districts, special-purpose associations, or non-profit legal entities; in isolated cases, registered associations acting on behalf of municipalities are also eligible for funding. With funding rates ranging from 60% to 85%, the program supports, among other things, the development, expansion, and revitalization of industrial and commercial areas, connection to transport and supply networks, as well as the expansion of public tourism infrastructure and start-up centers. The goal is to strengthen the business location, improve the competitiveness of regional companies, and anchor strategic development approaches.

Beyond the investment-related construction and modernization measures, the offering also includes the creation of integrated regional development concepts, planning and consulting services, regional management, and regional budgets. Applications are submitted continuously prior to the conclusion of a relevant delivery or service contract at the Saxony State Directorate. Essential prerequisites include proof of necessity for the commercial economy, assurance of overall financing including follow-up costs, as well as ownership titles or an easement for infrastructure facilities. Furthermore, operators and users must not be legally, economically, or personally related. For the application, the form "Application for Granting a Subsidy for the Promotion of Business-Related Infrastructure," the current funding guideline of the SMWA, and the checklists of the State Directorate must be submitted.
