Description

The free qualification and support program of the Sarah Wiener Foundation is aimed at employees of family centers in Berlin-Mitte and promotes the sustainable establishment of playful and everyday nutrition education. Over the course of 36 months, participants are trained as enjoyment ambassadors and learn practice-oriented methods in a two-day training to inspire families to cook healthily and enjoy eating. Subsequently, they independently implement regular cooking activities and tasting offers in their neighborhoods. They are accompanied by nutrition experts from the foundation who provide impulses and support the development of a sustainable offering in the family centers. This creates a neighborhood network in which knowledge about balanced nutrition is passed on and tested. The program unit is part of the Berlin Nutrition Strategy and contributes to the long-term strengthening of health, social participation, and equal opportunities.

Eligible for funding are public institutions and operators of family centers in Berlin-Mitte. The program spans three years and covers various eligible expenses, including training costs, kitchen equipment and utensils, as well as food funding for cooking activities. Continuous registration is possible at any time – a brief program information serves as the central application basis. This offer enables employees to design their own needs-oriented nutrition services and thus establish a healthy and enjoyable food culture in the neighborhood in the long term.
