Description
Glenkeen Garden Residencies – ArtNature/NatureArt offers art collectives from the EU the opportunity to reside for three months each in a unique landscape on the south coast of Ireland to develop new perspectives on the interplay between humans, nature, and art. From March to May and from August to November, the Crespo Foundation opens the gates of Glenkeen Garden, an approximately ten-hectare site featuring typical Irish pastureland and pristine nature directly on Roaringwater Bay. In this inspiring environment, participants can engage in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary dialogue with experts from the humanities and natural sciences and realize artistic projects that reflect on the relationship between ecological processes and aesthetic design. The site was long a source of inspiration for the founder Ulrike Crespo and is now carefully divided into zones that provide space for sculptures and artistic interventions.
As a grant-funded program, it specifically targets art collectives applying through open calls who wish to live and work together on site. The three-month residency supports the conceptual and practical engagement with topics such as climate protection, nature conservation, and energy efficiency, as well as their artistic implementation. For the completed open calls for 2026 and 2027, acceptance is expected by July 2025; a new call is anticipated from 2027 onwards. Project start is possible from March 1, 2026. Interested collective members can look forward to a place that inspires, offers networking opportunities, and encourages sustainable art strategies.
