Description
The qualification and support project of the Protestant School Foundation in the EKD is aimed at students of Protestant schools from the seventh grade onwards who are interested in liturgy and creative worship design. Nationwide, participants are trained as so-called worship guides to independently plan and conduct school worship services. The focus is on developing innovative formats, learning theological and organizational fundamentals, and jointly reflecting on lived commitment and communal experiences. Regular workshops and exchange formats create a vibrant network of committed young people that strengthens the Protestant profile of the participating educational institutions and promotes democratic participation. A digital learning platform complements the practical phases and enables location-independent knowledge exchange as well as materials for use in everyday school life.
Funding is provided in the form of grants and is exclusively available to non-profit and public educational institutions. Participation requires an internal school application and the consent of a supervising teacher. Evaluation criteria particularly include the motivation and creativity of the participants, the Protestant profile of the school, and the existing engagement in school worship services. Applications for the upcoming school year can be submitted continuously. This ongoing application process allows flexible planning within the school operation and creates equal opportunities for interested grade levels from year seven onwards. A final proof of the successful implementation of a school worship service completes the qualification and documents the contribution to social cohesion and the personal development of young people.
