Startup Consulting

Non-repayable grants support external consulting for business startups in Upper Austria. The goal is to strengthen startup projects in the region, create new jobs, and sustainably enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The support applies to external consultations on legal and business management issues as well as on the personal development of founders. The funding period extends from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026. Companies or prospective self-employed individuals who are members of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce or are seeking membership can submit their applications through the Chamber. Disbursement takes place after submission of complete documents and positive evaluation as De minimis aid.

SMEs as defined by the EU, whose establishment has taken place or is planned in Upper Austria, are eligible for funding. A demonstrable need for consulting as well as uninterrupted membership in the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce are prerequisites. Founders must not have been continuously self-employed in the same industry during the six years prior to the startup project. For partnerships or legal entities, a minimum shareholding of 25% and commercial management by the founders are required. Consulting costs are considered eligible expenses if incurred before or no later than 72 months after the establishment. No additional funding may be applied for identical consulting topics. This measure creates an incentive effect for the realization of startup projects and promotes sustainable growth in Upper Austria.
