Description
In Lower Austria, non-profit umbrella sports associations receive an annual grant to partially cover their basic tasks in association operations. The funding supports fundamental association work ranging from administrative coordination and training events to expenses of association bodies and external services such as accounting, payroll, or legal advice. Eligible expenses also include office supplies, property and room rentals, communication costs, insurance premiums, energy costs, as well as investments in IT and software. Bank fees, depreciation-related expenses for motor vehicles, and leasing costs can also be considered. This financial foundation ensures professional representation of interests, improves service quality, and maintains organizational continuity.
The amount of the grant is 160 euros per member club and is based on the association’s fiscal year. Funding requirements include valid registration in the Central Register of Associations and representation in the Lower Austrian State Sports Council. Applications must be submitted electronically no later than three months after the start of the fiscal year. The application form must be accompanied by an electronic list of clubs and the statutory approved financial statements of the previous year. The project duration is limited to twelve months. Payment is made in a single tranche upon submission of proof of the proper use of funds. Not eligible for funding are arbitration, attorney, and litigation costs in internal disputes, as well as expenses already covered by other sports funding from the State of Lower Austria. Through transparent guidelines and clear documentation requirements, the program ensures targeted basic funding in umbrella sports association work.
