Description
The Roland Berger Foundation enables tailored early support for particularly gifted primary school students, who are often faced with challenging starting conditions, through the primary school scholarships of the German Student Scholarship Program. In Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia, children aged six to ten benefit from individual learning and talent development plans based on ten real-life learning areas. Participation takes place upon recommendation by teachers at around 70 partner schools, which act as central pioneers and coordinate the application process. An annual development plan meeting ensures that the developmental goals remain aligned with the changing needs of the participants. Primary schools are thereby supported in their demanding task of mastering diversity in the classroom and specifically fostering individual talents.
The program is distinguished by its continuity and recognition: as an award, it honors both academic potential and the overcoming of social barriers. Applications can be submitted at any time through the partner schools, ensuring flexible support arrangements. The central goal is to strengthen equal opportunities already in the early educational phase and to create long-term prospects for the participants. The close cooperation with regional foundation sponsors underscores the commitment to the common good and makes the primary school scholarships an exemplary model of educational support in Germany.
