Description

The Bookkita Quality Seal including Support Program recognizes daycare centers nationwide that demonstrate outstanding commitment to early childhood reading promotion. Since 2025, a multi-year program has accompanied selected institutions on their path to certification and supports the integration of reading and language skills into the educational concept. Both municipal and private daycares are funded, creating a vibrant book culture through diverse offerings such as backpack libraries, regular reading sessions, and collaboration with reading mentors as well as libraries and bookstores. The goal is to promote equal opportunities and provide young children with a solid foundation for their language development and joy of reading. Public institutions and non-profit organizations can apply and benefit from professional guidance, networking opportunities, and public recognition.

To participate, the selection criteria of the quality seal must be met and all reading promotion projects documented with photographic evidence. Additionally, proof of completed training in the field of reading promotion must be submitted. The expert jury evaluates applications based on a 100-point system, with a minimum of 75 points required. The project duration is 36 months; recertification after this period ensures a long-term award. Application documents include a completed online form, a detailed project description, the photographic documentation, and proof of training. Submissions are accepted annually by May 31 of each year. Thus, the program offers structured and sustainable support for early childhood reading competence and honors the commitment of innovative daycare teams.
