Description

The Hamburg Digital Loan is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, craft businesses, trading companies, as well as freelancers and sole proprietorships located or operating in Hamburg. Through this program, the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB Hamburg), in cooperation with the KfW Banking Group and local banks, promotes investments in digital technologies and processes. It combines low-interest loans ranging from €25,000 up to €2,500,000 with a municipal grant of up to 12 percent of the loan amount (maximum €20,000) and a 50% liability release for the lending institutions. By subsidizing the KfW funds and providing application-oriented consulting by experts, the program supports sustainable and competitive development in the digital environment without being tied to a fixed funding end date.

Eligible investments and operating resources within the framework of digitization projects include, for example, the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software (including consulting costs), the digital networking of systems in production and administration (e.g., ERP, CRM, MES), IT security measures according to ISO 27001 or BSI standards, training measures to qualify employees, as well as the development of new digital business models. The loan term can be up to 120 months, and applications are submitted continuously before the project start via a local bank. A prerequisite for approval is SME status and a location in Hamburg. Additionally, a separate ERP funding grant from KfW can be applied for to further optimize financing.
