Description
The Craftsman Bonus in Vienna supports private individuals in commissioning labor services for renovation, maintenance, and modernization measures in the private residential sector. Only the pure labor costs, which are separately itemized on the final or partial invoice, are eligible for funding. A wide range of craft activities qualify for funding – from roofing and facade work to window and flooring renewals, as well as electrical, sanitary, or carpentry work. The prerequisite is that the work is carried out by a company authorized to operate under Austrian trade law within the period from March 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025, and is documented on the invoice. For the year 2024, the maximum funding rate is 20% of the labor costs, but no more than €2,000; for 2025, up to €1,500 per person and residential unit accordingly.
Applications can be submitted electronically from July 15, 2024, until no later than February 28, 2026. In addition to the invoice, proof of payment (e.g., transfer receipt or bank statement) must be provided. Identity verification is conveniently carried out via ID Austria or by uploading an official photo ID. Additional documents include a photo ID and, if applicable, the proportional cost statement for condominium associations. The payment is made as a one-time, non-repayable cost subsidy to the specified SEPA account. The aim of this measure is to stimulate the construction sector, increase the renovation rate, and strengthen SMEs in the construction industry – while applicants benefit from financial relief for craft-related residential modernizations.
