Description
This funding opportunity supports the expansion of secure data acquisition and processing environments for the European Genomic Data Infrastructure within the framework of the European Health Data Space. The goal is to establish a federated storage system for the 1+MG data infrastructure that complies with the requirements of the EHDS regulation and enables flexible scaling of capacities. By providing "hot storage" and specialized processing environments, large genomic datasets are not only securely archived but also efficiently analyzed. Hardware and software components can be procured within the scope of the funding to implement robust data pipelines and strengthen cross-border collaboration.
Eligible applicants include educational institutions, public bodies, companies, and non-profit organizations from EU member states and associated countries that can demonstrably show capacities in the field of genomics and data infrastructure. The maximum funding amount is €17.5 million, covering expenses for the establishment and operation of secure data storage infrastructure and the setup of processing environments. Funding is granted in compliance with the Admissibility Conditions, the financial and operational minimum requirements, as well as eligibility criteria according to Section 6 of the call document. Interested initiatives must submit their applications via the standard application form (DEP) in combination with the Ownership Control Declaration and the DEP Model Grant Agreement by March 3, 2026.
