Description

The call supports the development of cutting-edge tools, APIs, and interfaces for automated data and metadata curation, quality assurance, as well as legality and security checks within the European genomic data infrastructure (1+MG) in the European Health Data Space. Additionally, solutions are expected that support data minimization, compliance checks, and risk management, seamlessly aligning with the requirements of the European Health Data Space and the European Digital Identity Framework. A central element is the implementation of a citizen portal that enables the complete GDPR rights exercise process within twelve months. The provided tools should serve not only research applications but also clinical care and public health policy scenarios. This aims to ensure the accessibility and usability of high-quality genomic and clinical datasets and to sustainably strengthen the innovation capacity of the European health sector. The maximum funding amount is €5 million with a funding rate of 50%, covering eligible expenses including personnel costs, material costs, travel and accommodation expenses, as well as IT services.

Eligible to apply are consortia consisting of at least five independent institutions from five different eligible EU countries. Participating partners can be companies, research institutions, public authorities, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. A prerequisite is a consortium project with a 50% co-financing share for all beneficiaries, as well as compliance with the financial and operational capacity criteria defined in the call documents. Evaluation will be based on the criteria of technical excellence, expected impact, and quality of the implementation plan. The deadline for submission of complete applications is 3 March 2026, 17:00 Brussels time. Interested consortia may use the standardized application form (DEP), a financial plan, an ownership control declaration, and an ethics self-assessment for the application process.
