Description

The funding measure for therapeutic treatment in the areas of health, social affairs, as well as labor & social affairs of the State of Upper Austria is aimed at the needs-based care of people with disabilities. Sponsoring organizations receive grants for hippotherapy, services of the deaf outpatient clinic, outpatient and inpatient medical treatments, as well as conductive multiple therapy. With the program, which has been continuously open without time limitation since November 5, 2013, the goal is to make high-quality therapies accessible without barriers and to strengthen social integration in the long term. The involvement of experts and qualified therapists ensures professional service delivery in accordance with the framework guidelines of the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act.

Eligible to participate are non-profit organizations whose service offerings are recognized by the district administrative authority in accordance with § 27 of the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act. The target group of the funding are people with disabilities within the meaning of § 2, who, as EU citizens, equivalent nationals, or holders of a permanent residence permit, have their main residence in Upper Austria and have no entitlement to comparable services from other cost bearers. For the application, proof of lawful permanent residence, a medical certificate verifying the disability, income statements from the last three months, as well as proof of assets (e.g., bank statements, savings books) must be submitted. Applications are to be submitted directly to the responsible district administrative authority or to the Social Department of the Upper Austrian State Government. This sustainable funding provides reliable financial support for non-profit providers in the therapeutic sector and makes an important contribution to improved healthcare for persons with special needs.
