Description

Heimatförderung is a funding platform specifically supporting non-profit projects in Lower Saxony. Since its founding by the Bürgerstiftung Weserbergland, the program has cooperated closely with regional savings bank foundations to realize initiatives in the areas of education, children and youth, culture, media, music, social affairs, sports, vocational training & further education, as well as work & social services. This grant funding is aimed at non-profit associations, organizations, institutions, and projects that are active within the savings bank’s business area and pursue a clear non-profit mission. Through financial support, an important contribution is made to strengthening the sense of home in the region.

The funding measure focuses on the implementation of projects that sustainably enrich the educational and cultural landscape in Lower Saxony. Particular emphasis is placed on initiatives that promote social cohesion, inspire young people, and enable cultural as well as sporting activities locally. To be eligible for funding, applicants must, among other requirements, provide a current tax exemption certificate from the tax office and be able to issue a grant confirmation. The allocation of funds takes place continuously, thereby continuously creating space for innovative ideas. Registration via the digital application process enables a simple and transparent application procedure.

The platform thus serves as a central point of contact for committed projects aimed at strengthening regional cohesion and cultural heritage. The funding criteria require the use of funds within the savings bank’s business area, ensuring that the initiatives have a direct impact in the home region. The financial support provided creates the framework conditions to realize sustainable projects in the fields of education, youth, social affairs, sports, art, and culture. This funding advances the development of creative and social projects that serve the common good and keep the sense of home alive.
