Helene Medal – Oskar Helene Heim Foundation

The Helene Medal of the Oskar-Helene-Heim Foundation honors volunteers and non-profit organizations in Germany who are outstandingly committed in the medical-social field. With a funded award of €10,000, the foundation recognizes initiatives that sustainably improve the care situation of sick and needy people through voluntary action. Eligible for funding are both private individuals and non-profit organizations who demonstrate unpaid commitment in the areas of health, social affairs, as well as work & social services, thereby making a tangible contribution to the quality of life of those affected.

The selection is based on clearly defined criteria: the focus is on exemplary voluntary commitment and the actual improvement of care quality for people in need. The award aims to raise awareness of existing initiatives, increase motivation for civic engagement, and provide impetus for future projects.
