Description

The Henninger Music Prize is aimed at young musicians up to the age of 30 from Friedrichsdorf or with a musical focus in the city and seeks to recognize outstanding talents through an open competition. The Friedrichsdorf Cultural Foundation awards the prize, endowed with a total of €2,500, in the categories "Classical Music" and "Entertainment Music" to both soloists and ensembles of up to five persons as well as to larger formations of six or more members. The public award ceremony will take place as part of the competition day on April 26, 2026, after an expert jury consisting of representatives from the city, professional musicians, and music critics has evaluated the artistic performances.

Eligible to participate are applicants who have not yet begun music studies, possess a basic musical education, and have their residence in Friedrichsdorf or have participated at least three times in a music workshop of the Summer Academy. Application documents must include name, address, contact details, a brief biography with educational background, as well as information on the instrument, the pieces performed including composer and arranger, and the movement designation. The total duration of the performance pieces must not exceed eight minutes. Submissions can be sent to the Friedrichsdorf Cultural Foundation from December 1, 2025, until the registration deadline on April 2, 2026. The selection process is based on the submitted documents and the artistic quality of the performance.
