Description
As part of the assistance for violence by relatives in Lower Austria, the costs for all inpatient care and protective measures in women's shelters are financially supported. Sponsoring organizations receive an annual grant to fully cover the expenses for threatened and abused women and their children. This funding is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions and is available indefinitely. It belongs to the funding areas of social affairs, women's promotion, children and youth, as well as labor & social affairs, and can be applied for continuously. A prerequisite is a contract with the State of Lower Austria in accordance with § 48 of the Lower Austrian Social Assistance Act (NÖ Sozialhilfegesetz) as well as social authority approval pursuant to § 49 NÖ SHG.
Interested parties for funding are, on the one hand, inpatient care facilities that offer services according to the criteria of the NÖ SHG, and on the other hand, women seeking help with Austrian citizenship or equivalent residence status, as well as their minor children with primary residence in Lower Austria. Proof of need and dependency on assistance is essential for an application.
