Description
The state of Burgenland supports Burgenland residents in economically and socially precarious life situations with monetary or in-kind benefits to sustainably secure their economic existence. Eligible citizens who are exposed to social risk due to personal, familial, or extraordinary events receive non-repayable grants or interest-free loans. Funding is provided particularly for the acquisition and maintenance of housing (e.g., deposits, rent arrears), ensuring energy supply (electricity, gas arrears, heating materials), the purchase or repair of necessary household items, as well as basic living expenses. Support may be subject to conditions and requirements and entails a repayment obligation in case of false information.
Funding prerequisites include Austrian citizenship or equivalent status, main residence or habitual abode in Burgenland, and proof of need. Applications are accepted continuously from 01.10.2024 and are reviewed independently of existing claims to other social benefits. To apply, bank statements from the last three months, income proofs, receipts of regular expenses, and a valid rental contract are required. Administration is handled by the district authorities, which ensure prompt assistance through transparent procedures and digital services.
