Description

The research funding program “Holistic Solutions for CCAM Integration in Critical Scenarios” is aimed at consortia consisting of companies, universities, non-profit, and public institutions within the EU. The objective is the development and validation of system architectures, prototypes, and testing concepts for rare and high-risk traffic situations in the field of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM). Funding is provided for collaborations with partners from at least three different EU member states or associated countries, who have proven experience in CCAM projects and possess stable financial and operational capacities. Project durations of up to 36 months and a funding rate of 100% allow for coverage of all eligible expenses, including personnel, material, and travel costs, as well as subcontractor services. Retroactive costs and real estate acquisitions are not eligible for funding.

The focus lies on scenario collection and stakeholder analyses, the creation of a local deconflicting CCAM architecture including active, passive, and remotely controlled technologies, as well as harmonization with road authorities and emergency services. Evaluation criteria include the level of innovation, scientific excellence, scalability, contribution to traffic safety, and implementation efficiency. With grants of up to €5.5 million, project start dates until 07.10.2027, and full coverage of eligible costs, top projects per call are expected to have the opportunity to make the innovative potential of CCAM in critical operational cases along the European transport infrastructure tangible and safe.
