Description

The Hopp Camp is a free support program offered by the Hopp Foundation that assists public and non-profit schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with organizing barcamps on pedagogical days. External experts accompany teachers and leadership personnel through all phases – from conceptual coordination to on-site moderation. The open structure of the barcamp format enables a lively, participatory exchange, where participants shape the content agenda themselves. Thematic focuses range from digitalization in the school context to agile teaching approaches and student-centered examination formats. The goal is to promote knowledge exchange, strengthen team spirit, and sustainably integrate participatory teaching and learning methods into everyday school life.

Eligible for funding are all public and non-profit schools located in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, or Rhineland-Palatinate that are situated in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and present their barcamp concept at the full teachers’ conference. The grant covers 100% of the costs, and applications can be submitted at any time. To apply, a completed application form and a presentation of the planned barcamp concept are required. The decision is based on the feasibility of the topic, existing expertise within the faculty, and the foundation’s capacities. Upon positive funding approval, trainers from the Hopp Foundation take over detailed planning and moderation to ensure a smooth and inspiring professional development day.
