Description
The EU funding program HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-06 aims to strengthen agrobiodiversity as a key factor for food security and sustainable competitiveness within the EU. Transnational consortia consisting of at least three legally independent organizations from different EU Member States or associated countries can receive comprehensive support. The target group includes research institutions, universities, companies of all sizes, non-profit organizations, as well as public authorities active in the fields of agricultural research, biotechnology, or environmental protection. The program supports projects with a 100% grant rate and covers eligible costs such as personnel expenses, travel and subsistence costs, consumables and equipment, subcontracting services, as well as dissemination and communication activities.
The selection process is based on the three main criteria of excellence of the scientific approach, expected impact and dissemination strategy, and quality and efficiency of project implementation and governance. Submitting consortia must provide a complete project proposal including an ethics self-assessment, financial plan and budget overview, partner declarations, as well as CVs of the project leaders. By focusing on agriculture and rural development, environmental and nature conservation, and climate protection, the program opens innovative opportunities to develop sustainable cultivation strategies and jointly enhance the resilience of European agricultural systems. Interested project participants are encouraged to realize their research initiatives in close collaboration at the European level, thereby making a significant contribution to the future viability of EU agriculture.
