Description
Housing First – Rental Costs is a repayable loan that enables homeless adults or those at risk of homelessness with a primary residence in Austria to rent an apartment in Vienna. Under this program, financing contributions in the non-profit housing sector of up to €30,000 as well as deposits in all housing market segments of up to €12,000 are covered. Support provided by an agency authorized according to the Housing First guidelines ensures sustainable assistance and coordinates agreements between applicants, tenants, landlords, and the processing office. Thus, the loan makes an important contribution to ending homelessness and promotes social integration.
Between 01.10.2024 and 31.12.2026, interested parties may submit a fully completed application including a detailed cost breakdown and, if applicable, a photo ID to the responsible funding agency. A formal loan agreement regulates the terms of repayment and interest: financing contributions are reduced by an annual depreciation of 1%, deposits are refunded with statutory interest minus any justified claims. Through this targeted support, the procurement of housing is financially secured and the economic participation of persons at risk of poverty is sustainably strengthened.
