Description
The funding program HWT Energy and Climate Protection supports universities and research institutions based in Schleswig-Holstein in applied research and transfer projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energies, and climate protection. The goal is to jointly translate scientific findings on energy production, consumption, supply, and climate protection into practice together with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Eligible applicants are professors as well as independently researching university members in cooperation with companies primarily located in Schleswig-Holstein. The project duration is usually 24 months, with an advance payment of up to €5,000 available for application preparation.
Material and personnel expenses as well as investments in equipment from €10,000 are funded with a funding rate between 80% and 95%, depending on company size and founding duration. The total funding amount can be up to €175,000. Combining this funding with other support measures is possible, provided that product development or pure contract research is not the focus. A prerequisite for funding is the joint implementation of project work by the university and the company. Required documents include the application form, a detailed project description, and proof of cooperation. The next deadline will be announced shortly; submissions are made to the Gesellschaft für Energie und Klimaschutz Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (EKSH). Interested university researchers and research institutions in the state benefit from this attractive funding opportunity to develop innovative solutions for a climate-friendly energy future.
