Description
The IFB Sports Promotion Loan supports non-profit sports clubs, associations, and private sports foundations in Hamburg in the maintenance and further development of their sports facilities. Through low-interest loans, construction measures in the areas of modernization, renovation, expansion, and major repairs can be implemented to ensure the long-term attractiveness and safety of the facilities. The program is aimed at organizations registered in the Hamburg club register, exclusively active in amateur sports, and able to demonstrate the sports-political significance of the planned investment. Cooperation with the Authority for the Interior and Sports ensures a reliable confirmation of eligibility for funding prior to application submission.
Up to 80% of the eligible total costs are financed with a minimum loan amount of €20,000. Requirements include an equity share of at least 20%, verifiable membership of at least 50 eligible members, and the economic viability of the project. The usage guarantee is at least 20 years for new construction, conversion, or expansion, and 10 years for major repairs or modernization. The application process includes a project description, a detailed financing plan, as well as proof of non-profit status and membership numbers. Applications can be submitted by January 1 and July 1 of each year. The Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB Hamburg) reviews the documents promptly and makes case-by-case decisions on the allocation of promotional loans to ensure the future viability of sports facilities in Hamburg.
