Description

The interest group IG Netz supports non-profit associations and interest groups in the federal states of Burgenland, Carinthia, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna, as well as at the federal level, in financially relieving employers in the independent performing arts sector. The goal is to secure employment for professional artists and production managers and to counteract age-related precariousness. Eligible for funding are independent professional groups that have received a subsidy from the federal government or one of the co-financing federal states in the last two calendar years or the current year, whereby the total public subsidy must not exceed €750,000 per year. IG Netz provides grants towards the employer’s share of social security contributions—primarily for artistic personnel and, subject to budget availability, also for management positions—in order to sustainably support the continuation of projects in dance, theater, performance, and new circus.

Funding is granted semi-annually with submission deadlines on September 20 (January–June) and March 15 (July–December) and is structured as a direct grant of up to €300 per employment and month. Employment relationships must be documented by payslips and payment confirmations from the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK). For the application process, an online access is set up via the IG Netz database, into which, in addition to the current extract from the register of associations and subsidy confirmations, balance sheets, funding commitments, AMS confirmations, and production documentation must also be uploaded. After submission of the complete documents, the office reviews the contribution collection, prepares financial overviews for the federal government and states, and initiates payment within a few working days after approval. This creates an uncomplicated access to stable funding contributions for the independent theater scene.
