Description
The IIASA Program for Ensuring Spatial Provision at the Austria Location (Laxenburg) supports companies with a one-time grant totaling €1.55 million to sustainably strengthen the research location Austria. Funding is provided particularly for rental payments to Schloss Laxenburg Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. as well as expenses for maintenance measures based on the supplementary agreements to the lease contract dated January 16, 1973. Through this funding, the headquarters of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis at Schloss Laxenburg is preserved, thereby guaranteeing internationally competitive infrastructure in the fields of research, science, and innovation. The measure is directed at IIASA itself, is available indefinitely, and relates to projects in Lower Austria and Vienna.
As direct funding in the thematic area of “Infrastructure & Urban Development,” the measure aims to ensure that all necessary operating and maintenance costs are paid in a timely manner. Applicant companies only require the aforementioned lease contract as a funding prerequisite, as ongoing funding opportunities exist and applications can be submitted without time limitation. The goal is to coordinate the university and research landscape nationally and to make it internationally competitive. The provision of funds is carried out by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research in cooperation with the State of Lower Austria and the State of Vienna. Thus, this program makes a significant contribution to the long-term stabilization of an important research location in Austria.
