Description

The IKAROS Scholarship of the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung is aimed at young people up to 30 years old residing in Berlin, who are completing a school qualification through the second-chance education pathway or beginning an initial vocational training. Refugees as well as unaccompanied minors are explicitly included. The support includes a variable monthly scholarship amount, complemented by a comprehensive accompanying program: mentoring by former scholarship holders, individual coaching, tutoring, and application training. Additionally, IKAROS offers regular exchange formats, workshops on time management and stress management, as well as cultural excursions. The goal is to reduce financial barriers, strengthen equal opportunities, and support young adults on their path to school and vocational qualifications. Selection is based on motivation, willingness to perform, and commitment to the program with good to average academic results.

Applications are accepted continuously and are specified in an initial interview. Requirements include being up to 30 years old, having a Berlin residence, and providing proof of admission to the second-chance education pathway or initial vocational training. Submitted documents include a letter of motivation, CV, and proof of admission. IKAROS provides individual support based on need when BAföG benefits or training allowances are insufficient and accompanies participants beyond mere financial aid. The foundation positions itself as a reliable partner to facilitate the start of a successful professional life and to open up sustainable prospects. Interested and committed applicants will learn the next steps for an application in a personal conversation.
