Individual Support for Students at General and Vocational Schools (FRL IndiFö)

Individual Support for Pupils at General and Vocational Schools (FRL IndiFö) supports young learners in the Free State of Saxony with tailored grants for special learning and support measures. The program targets privately eligible pupils at general and vocational schools who demonstrate a verifiable individual need for support. The aim of the guideline is to strengthen equal opportunities and academic success by financing additional educational offerings – such as intensive courses, tutoring programs, or special support measures in the linguistic, mathematical, or social fields. Through its regional focus on Saxony, the measure contributes to targeted local support and complements existing school offerings with individual learning impulses.

To receive funding, formal enrollment at a general or vocational school in Saxony as well as proof of special support needs are required. After reviewing the application documents, the funds are awarded in the form of grants to enable additional educational services and ensure sustainable learning success. Implementation is carried out by the Saxon Development Bank – Förderbank – (SAB), which, as the central funding institution of the Free State of Saxony, coordinates all application and allocation procedures.
