Innovation Promotion

The innovation support program of the City of Villach assists small and medium-sized enterprises as well as start-ups located within the city area of Villach in implementing forward-looking projects. Non-repayable grants are provided to promote innovative initiatives in the fields of research & innovation, business financing, and consulting. The aim of this initiative is to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses and to strengthen creativity and technological advancements directly on site. Funding applications can be submitted from January 1, 2019, until the allocated budget is exhausted, ensuring flexible and ongoing application opportunities.

A prerequisite for approval is proof of a company’s registered office and planned project implementation within the city area of Villach. For the application submission, among other documents, a valid trade register excerpt, a tax number or insurance data excerpt, as well as proof of business activity are required. The process is handled straightforwardly by the responsible department of the City of Villach’s regulatory authority. Comprehensive documentation and readiness to provide information during official inspections are mandatory as part of the awarding process. The funding is disbursed once following a positive decision, thereby directly contributing to the realization of innovative ideas in the regional economic area.
