Description

The Max Weber Foundation supports early-career researchers in the humanities and social sciences with a diverse range of scholarships, fellowships, internships, and study courses at its overseas institutes in Europe. Individuals may submit applications at any time – there is no fixed deadline, as applications are directed directly to the respective institutes. Funding primarily supports research and qualification projects through grants for living expenses as well as travel costs. Requirements for application include a compelling letter of motivation, a detailed curriculum vitae, and a precise project description. Funding options include monthly installments of up to €2,500 as well as variable travel cost subsidies, depending on the program and institute.

The funding portfolio is aimed at doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, habilitated scholars, students, and young professionals who are undertaking a scientific qualification measure or planning their own research projects at one of the institutes in Paris, London, Rome, Washington D.C., Tokyo, and other locations. In addition to traditional scholarships, special offerings such as German-French colloquia, awards for outstanding dissertations, and networked fellowships in the field of management consulting are provided. Continuous awarding of grants ensures maximum flexibility to strengthen international cooperation and academic exchange. Interested researchers can find detailed information on funding areas and benefits on the institute websites and may contact the respective coordinators directly.
