Description

The state program "Integration Opportunities for Children and Families" (IfKuF) in North Rhine-Westphalia supports municipalities with an established Municipal Integration Center in expanding and consolidating the proven concepts "griffbereitMINI," "Griffbereit," and "Rucksack KiTa." The goal is to particularly involve families with a migration background early on in educational processes and to consistently promote multilingualism as a resource. By qualifying parent facilitators, a bridge is created between families and educational institutions, based on prejudice-reflective and diversity-oriented actions. Additionally, new group offerings can be established, whose operation and material equipment are funded through the program. Up to €33,300 per municipality is available for this purpose. Applications are submitted online via integration.web by January 31 of the respective fiscal year, and the project duration is 12 months.

Eligible expenses include the qualification of parent facilitators, the development and operation of group concepts, as well as the provision of necessary materials. Personnel costs for professionals outside the target group, advertising measures, excursions, travel expenses, and volunteer allowances are not eligible for funding. For the application, a fully completed application form, a financing plan, and a legally binding signed overall cost statement must be submitted. Municipalities can implement the program in cooperation with third parties such as migrant self-organizations or family education centers, thereby strengthening local networks. The state government thus promotes equitable participation opportunities and strengthens commitment to social cohesion and democratic participation.
