Funding objective
The objective of the call is the research and demonstration of innovative methods and solutions to create intergenerational neighborhoods and communities that are socially inclusive, ecologically sustainable, and aesthetically appealing. The funded projects should promote multigenerational living, identify barriers and needs, and test and evaluate practical implementation approaches in at least three different settlement typologies across various Member States or associated countries.

Description
The call "Intergenerational neighbourhoods and communities aligned with the New European Bauhaus" is aimed at public institutions, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions in the EU and Horizon Europe-associated countries. The focus is on research and innovation projects for designing intergenerational neighbourhoods that are socially inclusive, ecologically sustainable, and aesthetically appealing. The goal is to develop innovative methods to promote coexistence among children, youth, adults, and seniors, identify barriers, and test and evaluate practical implementation approaches in at least three different settlement typologies (urban, suburban, rural). Eligible to apply are consortia of at least three independent partners, including public procurement bodies or authorities. The two-stage procedure requires a project outline by 1 December 2027, followed by a full proposal submission. Projects should work inter- and transdisciplinarily, incorporate social sciences and humanities, and comply with ethical and data protection requirements.
A funding amount of up to €5,250,000 (100% funding rate) is available for a duration of 36 months. Eligible costs include personnel expenses, environmental and social studies, subcontracting services, travel, and material costs; excluded are mass production, real estate construction, and retrospective costs. Evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation, impact on target groups, as well as efficiency and feasibility of the utilization concept. The application requires CVs of key personnel, a financing and budget plan, proof of legal status, and an ethics self-assessment. Projects are expected to make results usable well beyond the pilot phases and actively contribute their findings to the New European Bauhaus Hub.
