International Aeolus Wind Instrument Competition (Sieghardt Rometsch Foundation)

The International Aeolus Wind Competition of the Sieghardt Rometsch Foundation is one of the most prestigious music competitions worldwide and is aimed at young trumpet, trombone, and tuba soloists up to the age of 28. In September 2026, selected emerging artists of all nationalities will gather in Düsseldorf to present themselves to an international expert panel in three evaluation rounds. With a total prize fund of €60,000 and a first prize endowed with €20,000, the competition offers not only financial incentives but also concert and networking opportunities. The event promotes artistic profile development and strengthens the careers of young wind players on national and international stages.

Online registration is possible from February 1, 2026, and ends on April 30, 2026. Eligible are individuals born on or after January 1, 1998, who play trumpet, trombone, or tuba as their main instrument. Required are a copy of the birth certificate, a short biography including artistic development, and a recent photo. Selection is based on previous competition experience and artistic progress; in the event of a tie, the order of receipt decides. All finalists receive additional prize money, diploma certificates, and the prospect of concert invitations through renowned agencies. This competition offers a unique platform for emerging wind players to present themselves to an international audience and gain long-term impulses for their musical careers.
