Description
Since 2004, the Ingrid zu Solms Foundation has awarded a scholarship for particularly gifted, high-achieving, and socially committed girls who pursue their Abitur at the boarding school Schloss Hansenberg in the Rheingau. The aim of this award is to provide young talents with unrestricted access to demanding academic education and to recognize their commitment to school and society. The full funding of boarding fees until the Abitur underscores the foundation’s strong emphasis on equal opportunities and the promotion of women. The selection takes place annually during the school’s Christmas celebration and offers the scholarship recipients a platform to acknowledge their achievements to date.
Eligible to apply are all female students of the boarding school Schloss Hansenberg who demonstrate outstanding academic performance as well as pronounced social engagement. The application requires the submission of a self-written essay in which the candidates present their motivation and previous activities. Evaluation is conducted by a panel consisting of the youth advisory board and the foundation’s board, who assess the essays based on academic achievement, personal commitment, and essay quality. A 100% funding rate guarantees that all selected participants benefit from full coverage of the boarding costs. The submission deadline is set annually by the school administration and announced together with the application documents.
