Description

The J-TEAM program of the Sports Youth Lower Saxony promotes voluntary engagement of young people up to 27 years old in sports. Interested individuals find here a low-threshold format to put their own visions into practice—without having to take on long-term offices. Starting from just four committed young people, an independent J-TEAM is formed, equipped with a starter package (€250 project budget, €150 voucher for team clothing, and an individual logo). Additionally, professional support, informational materials, and workshops ("We Shape the Future") are part of the offering. J-TEAMs work participatively and project-oriented: whether trend sports days, tournaments, or movement activities for children and youth—the initiative supports flexible project planning and creates space for creative ideas.

Non-profit sports clubs, sports associations, and state specialist federations with a valid exemption certificate and membership in the Lower Saxony State Sports Federation can submit applications continuously. Funding requirements include a minimum of four engaged individuals under 27 years old, independent project work, commitment in the area of children and youth, and an accompanying contact person. Eligible costs include material and fee expenses, but not real estate or retroactive costs. To apply, a J-TEAM founding application, a project application, the Sports Youth guidelines, and application instructions must be submitted. Projects are evaluated based on motivation for movement, visibility of the J-TEAM, and contribution to youth engagement. Upon successful approval, up to €1,000 per project can be granted—the program runs without a fixed deadline.
