Description

The state of Carinthia supports promising emerging artists in the disciplines of visual arts, literature, music, as well as interdisciplinary art forms through its annual scholarships. An independent jury decides on the allocation, evaluating projects based on their innovation potential and artistic merit. The scholarships are granted as a subsidy and paid out in monthly installments over a period of twelve months. Eligible applicants are artists acting in a personal capacity who were born in Carinthia, are active there, or can demonstrate a clear substantive connection to the federal state. Submissions are accepted at any time, allowing creative projects to be realized independently of fixed deadlines.

For a complete application, a completed and signed online form, a curriculum vitae with an artistic career overview, and a precise project description must be submitted. Additionally, a statement on the current status of the project development must be provided; work samples such as text excerpts, portfolio examples, or scores complete the documentation. Evaluation is based on the criteria of quality, originality, and innovation content. There is no legal entitlement to funding; completed projects as well as projects already funded by the state of Carinthia are excluded. After the scholarship period ends, a digital report on the use and performance must be submitted. Through this funding measure, the support system of the Carinthian state government makes a significant contribution to strengthening cultural diversity and the sustainable promotion of young artists in the region.
