Description
The Sebastian Wolff Foundation for International Youth Hockey Exchange enables young hockey players from all over Germany to promote their athletic and personal development through stays in European clubs and host families. As part of an ongoing sponsorship program, the foundation supports the placement of accommodation with family connections, establishes contacts with partner clubs, and provides financial assistance for language and academic training as well as part-time jobs. The goal is to deepen the understanding of a united Europe through intercultural experiences and to strengthen the participants in their individual careers. The focus is on sustainable relationships with European clubs that open up long-term athletic prospects.
Interested parties are active club members planning a stay abroad in Europe who require support with accommodation, club integration, and financing. The nationwide open funding requires no personal financial contribution and is awarded continuously, allowing for flexible schedules. Expenses for language courses, semesters abroad, part-time jobs, and accommodation costs are eligible for funding. More than twenty participants have already benefited from this support in recent years and have built networks in England, France, and other European countries. Registration is informal via email to the foundation; there is no fixed application deadline. The varying amounts of grants enable individual project sizes, while the foundation, together with its local partner network, facilitates entry into international hockey clubs and promotes intercultural encounters.
