Description
Youth for Development Cooperation is aimed at registered, non-profit associations based in Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, or Saxony. The program supports development policy education and domestic work of East German initiative groups as well as projects for poverty alleviation and human rights work in the Global South. With continuously open application windows, grants are awarded to sustainably improve the material living conditions of disadvantaged population groups in developing regions. A prerequisite for application is proof of verifiable, non-profit activity in the field of development policy education as well as formal registration as an association in the funding region. The focus is on measures that strengthen the self-help and initiative of target groups on site and have a long-term impact.
The funding instrument offers associations the opportunity to implement creative formats for workshops, exchange programs, or local campaigns, thereby raising awareness of global interconnections in East Germany. Projects can be submitted at any time, ensuring flexible funding periods and planning security. The North-South Bridges Foundation, the program’s sponsor, provides advice on administrative and content-related questions, reviews usage reports, and supports applicants throughout the entire process. Through this partnership, associations benefit from expert guidance and reliable funding modalities to effectively implement their development policy engagement in education and poverty reduction projects and to make a sustainable contribution to global justice.
