Description
The Youth Diakonie Prize – MachMit! Award honors exceptional social commitment by young people in Baden-Württemberg and sends a message of social cohesion and lived democracy. Participants aged 13 to 27, whether as a group, initiative, school class, or individual, present their own projects that support children, youth, or disadvantaged people. With the award, the Diakonie Württemberg Foundation aims to make voluntary engagement visible, appreciate it, and promote innovative ideas. An independent jury evaluates the quality and impact of the submissions and creates space for recognition and networking among committed young people.
In each age category, three cash prizes are awarded: €1,000 for first place, €500 for second, and €250 for third. Submission requires only a meaningful project description outlining the commitment, target group, and achieved results. Entries are assessed based on their social added value, sustainability, and effectiveness on the community. With the MachMit! Award, winners receive not only financial support but also public attention, which provides new impulses for further initiatives. This funding format is aimed at all those who actively engage in society and want to positively shape their environment – an incentive for creative, solidarity-based action by young people in Baden-Württemberg.
