Description

The Young College Greifswald of the Alfried Krupp College Greifswald Foundation offers enrolled students of the University of Greifswald a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and individual development. In this network, early-career researchers from various disciplines meet with distinguished mentors and experts to jointly discuss research questions, initiate innovative projects, and sharpen their own academic profiles. Membership is independent of existing scholarships or funding, so all interested individuals with strong scientific commitment can receive an invitation to join the college. The goal is to sustainably promote academic careers in science and research through collegial networking and targeted mentoring, and to strengthen the campus as a vibrant place of community.

Applications are accepted continuously via an online form and require a brief motivation letter (maximum half a page) as well as information on name, email address, and field of study. After successful pre-selection by the coordination and scientific leadership, a short introductory interview takes place in which applicants present their expectations and scientific interests. The evaluation criteria include, on the one hand, the substantive quality of the motivation letter and, on the other hand, the impression from the personal interview. Since applications can be submitted at any time, the Young College offers a flexible opportunity to actively engage in a strong academic network and to sustainably shape one’s own research path.
