Description
In the heart of Carinthia, the fund supports measures for information and awareness-raising around the unique biosphere park concept of the Nockberge. The funding is aimed at private individuals, start-ups, companies, cooperatives, associations, and organizations that develop projects to deepen the understanding of the interrelationship between humans and nature. With thematic focuses on environmental and nature conservation, education for sustainable development, energy efficiency, as well as climate and resource protection, a network of initiatives is activated that unites both cultural and ecological aspects. It enables participatory workshops, exhibitions, educational programs, and research projects that highlight local particularities and, together with experts and regional stakeholders, develop sustainable perspectives.
Grantees of all sizes can access at any time grants of up to 75% of eligible total costs. The maximum project duration is 36 months. The basis for implementation is the submission of the application form, the resolution by the Biosphere Park Committee Nockberge, and the declaration of commitment according to the guidelines. The assessment criteria include the feasibility of own contributions, public interest, economic benefits for applicants, and already approved funding. Payments are made upon submission of appropriate invoices and can be disbursed in installments. Upon completion, a final report with original receipts and proof of non-cash own contributions must be submitted. The ongoing application possibility ensures flexible project planning within the Biosphere Park Nockberge.
