Karl Newman Award for Excellence

The Karl Newman Sponsorship Award annually honors employees of the State Theater Cottbus who significantly contribute to the success of the institution through excellent artistic or technical achievements. Named after Karl Newman, grandson of the foundation’s founder Max Grünebaum, the award recognizes outstanding commitment in the fields of culture, music, as well as education and training. The Max Grünebaum Foundation, as the awarding body, primarily supports dedicated private individuals from Brandenburg with this distinction, thereby strengthening the cultural profile of the region.
